Summer's New Adventure

Last week Summer had her first soccer practice and game which they won.  She and her best friend Paige are on the same team and they were both so cute to watch.  She did really well during practice but once the game started that was a different story.  She got upset and wanted to go home but she made it through the game. The coach is very patient and just wants the kids to have a good time.  He even let Chad go in as coach to see if it would help her.  This week Summer told me she can't wait for her next game so I guess it worked.

Austin's New Bed

Well after six years we finally had to kiss the baby bed good bye.  We are so glad it lasted as long as it did. We spent many hours trying to come up with an idea for a bed for Austin.  We knew it had to be safe and had to be enclosed.  But there was not much out there.  The ones that are used in hospitals were just plain scary looking.  Chad and I decided to look for a set of bunk beds and modify them to work for Austin.  Thanks to Grandma and Paw-paw they were able to get this awesome bed.  Chad added the boards to the front and right now we are using the ladder as a door with a latch.  Eventually we will put a door on it.  It also has two huge drawers underneath for all his clothes.
He loves sleeping and playing in it!

The new theme in his room is-STAR WARS

One crazy dog !

Adding a puppy to our family was a crazy idea but now I am so thankful we did.  Rudy has now become our fourth spoiled child and I am pretty sure he knows that.   Rudy has done great with all three kids but he has a special bond with Austin.  They play so well together and will lay on the couch or floor for hours-which if you know Austin that is pretty special!  If Austin is crying, sick, or wakes up in the middle of the night Rudy is right there by his side making sure he is OK.

And now for the proof he is spoiled!

Yes he takes a paci-and it's the only thing he can't chew up

Yes he stands on a stool to drink out of the sink-we can't leave water out for him because well you know why.
Yes he thinks the couch in the office is his bed

Yes these three spend more time in his crate then he does!!!!!!

Back 2 School

Last week Summer and I went to her new school to meet her teacher.
I am so glad I was able to do this with her.
We din't take Austin to his because he has the same teacher as last year---which is so nice.

The first day of school was a little crazy and hopefully things will calm down soon.  We only got one picture that morning.  Chad spent the morning waiting on two different buses at two different bus stops that were both over an hour late.  His morning ended with a run around the block with Summer and Luke chasing Summer's bus that passed them up.
There is never a dull moment in the Black Family.

 The First Day
Getting off the bus safe and sound

Really 6, 4 and 1?

I can't believe how fast these kids are growing up.
I finally went and had the their yearly pictures taken.  (just a little late)

My friend Jessica came and helped with Austin-thanks Jess for spending your last day of summer vacation with my clan.  We love you!

Summer Fun!

Thanks to my parents we were able to take Summer to do some fun things all by herself!  She had such a great time at Moody Gardens, Galveston and the Children's Museum.  Chad and I enjoyed spending time with her and having an only child. Funny story Summer has the most sensitive nose and smells make her sick-as soon as we got to the beach she covered her nose/mouth and said it was the grossest thing she had ever smelled and then she got sick:(  We quickly distracted her with the sand and shells and she was good to go.

She is growing up so fast!  And she amazes me with the things she comes up with.

Here is our conversation in the car the other day.
Summer-Is Austin ever going to talk?
Me-No baby you know he has a special brain and he won't.
Summer-Is he going to get to be a dad?
Me-No-I wish because he would be a great dad.  He is going to live with mommy and daddy forever.
Summer-Oh really well where he is going to go when you and daddy go to heaven?
Can you take him with y'all?
Me-hmmm why do you ask?
Summer-Just checking.  He can live with me if you want because he is a good friend of mine.
Me-Summer he is more than your friend he is your brother! But you don't need to worry about that right now we will find the right place for him.

(and then if you know me you know I cried)

Loving the Water

Austin is doing so good in the water.  He is as happy as can be and will swim for hours.  I was worried about next year with Austin out growing swim diapers but I found a site on line that sells adult swim diapers up to 300 pounds so we are good to go forever!
(and Lord help us if Austin ever weighs that much)

Minute to Win It

I guess Luke thinks he has a shot at the game Minute to Win It.  He has done this with our tissues and toilet paper many times.  His world was turned upside down today when he found the cabinet now has a much needed lock on it!

Boat Ride

We went back to the lake with my parents and Lauren for a week and had a wonderful time.
We went on a boat ride which was a first for all three kids.

And our other excitement for the week was a toad Paw-paw found

A Rainy Day

One of the few days it rained this summer was while we were on a walk-of course! The kids thought it was so funny-they had to keep playing in it when we got home.

Summer and Her Car

Wow I just realized I haven't posted in a month so I will be playing catch up today.

While looking through the camera card I found these pictures of Summer working on her Princess SUV. She takes her work very serious as you can tell.
