Happy Birthday Austin and Summer!

This year the kids birthday party theme was circus. We had a wonderful time with our family and friends. We served circus food-hot dogs, pop corn, cotton candy. Michelle made her famous cupcakes and the kids loved them. Mom bought cake balls which if you have never had them they are awesome!

I booked a clown and it was the perfect entertainment for the kids. Her name is Honey Dew and she does it all. Magic, face painting, balloons and prizes. She even brought her ferret along for the fun.
Here is her website http://www.funkidparties.com/

We waited until Sunday to open presents. The kids got some really neat toys and their closets are now ready for summer.

I can't believe it has been four years since we met are precious angel. He is truly an amazing little boy and we are so happy God chose us to be his parents.

Summer is turning into such a big girl and helper. She loves Austin so much and has her daddy's personality.

Three was a breeze!

I found these pictures on my camera that I had forgotten about. One Saturday we were able to keep Isaac for Selene while she worked for her internship. I was pretty nervous-but all went well. At one point Summer watched a movie, Isaac took a nap and Austin played in his room. (Which meant I got to take a shower)

We enjoyed playing with Isaac. I am so glad they are all living here now.

Another Steelers Victory

What a game! We had a blast cheering on the Steelers. The kids loved playing with their friends Logan and Brayden and enjoyed all of the excitement. Looking forward to ring number seven.

This will make you laugh

The other day I heard Austin laughing in the bathroom and was scared to see what he had done. He had a ball with suction cups on it and was sticking it to everything in the bathroom. I had to video him twice because it was so cool to see that he knew where to stick the ball. I am not sure why it was so funny.

Austin's Awesome Report

Austin brought home his nine week progress report on Wednesday and this is what it said.
Austin has gained confidence of his school surroundings and is able to sit during circle time for 10-12 minutes without adult support. Austin uses a communication box to make choices and uses it during his snack time. We are also working on potty training and he is getting more cooperative. We are very proud of Austin and his progress.
Can you believe?

Our Big Girl

Summer is growing up so fast. On Saturday she helped me turn her baby bed into a big girl bed. I was not ready for this but on Friday she decided to try and climb out of her bed. She is proud of her bed. Every time someone comes over she has to run and show them her room. She is doing ok with the changes her nap was a little short and of course she woke up in the middle of the night. I think by next week she will have the hang of it. Her other new toy is daddy's four wheeler. She will ask Chad Daddy Ride and off they go.
I love listening to her talk and sing to Austin. This stage of her life is so much fun.
Hooray for Summer

Christmas with Nanny and Poppy

Nanny and Poppy came to see us on New Years Day. We had a great visit and the kids loved opening all of their presents.
A hot day in January. This weather is crazy.
Loving on Nanny
Opening his Hulk toy
Summer was so excited about her apron from Isaac she wears it when she cooks in her kitchen.

Happy New Year

We celebrated the new year on our street with all of our friends. Austin loved watching the fireworks-Summer was a little scared and kept asking what's that every time she saw one. Chad and I probably answered that question 100 times.
Austin looks so cute!
Austin and daddy trying to keep warm
Summer not looking on purpose
Summer and Logan hanging out on the four wheeler. Pretty soon Logan will be taking Summer for rides. He knows how to turn the key and start the four wheeler. It is so funny.

A visit from Isaac

Uncle A and Aunt Nini were in town recently looking for apartments. Chad and I had so much fun playing with Isaac. And we had him all to ourselves because Summer was at Grandma and Pa-paw's house. Selene and Isaac will be moving here soon so she can begin her internship. Please pray for a safe move. Also pray that Andrew is able to find a job here in Houston so their family can be together.

Austin's Big Day

Austin was a trooper for his surgery. He did very well after the surgery and only had to stay one night in the hospital. It took him a couple of days to eat/drink. Now we can't get him to stop eating. He loved eating before but now he is trying more foods and eating a ton. For example one day for dinner he had 12 mini corn dogs, a whole can of green beans, a banana, cheese, 2 pieces of toast and 4 cookies. Yes in one sitting. I guess his tonsils were worse than we thought!
And of course if it is going to happen to someone it will happen to us. The day after his surgery Austin gagged all day long. We thought his throat was just hurting. Late Saturday night I went in his room to give him medicine and he was gagging again. But this time I witnessed my baby throwing up a piece of plastic that was stuck in his throat. We have contacted the hospital and seen the surgeon all who say it is not from his surgery. Please pray about what we should do and praise God for protecting Austin.
Loving on Grandma before the surgery
Wondering what was about to happen

Summer comforting Austin when he woke up from surgery.
And I have to include a picture of the plastic.

Christmas with Grandma and Papaw

We had a great visit with the Holmes side on Christmas day. Austin was so good and did not touch any of Grandma's collectibles. It is amazing how fast time flies. It seems like yesterday when Lauren was the only grandchild now there are seven.
Sorry mom-hope you got a good picture on your camera!

Christmas Morning

Christmas was so much fun with the kids this year. Summer woke up at 3:30 and Chad wanted to have Christmas then. Well I was able to hold them off until 7. Austin loves his ball and we managed to get it in his room. I am sure he will live in there from now on. Summer loved their puppy and her bus. Hope you all have a wonderful time with your family today.

Playing Santa

Here is what Santa left for Austin and Summer. Chad was delirious after inflating the ball. Each section of the ball had its own valve. Don't worry I let him use a pump.

Getting Ready for Santa

The kids had fun getting ready for Santa's visit. We left Santa milk and cookies. We also sprinkled some food in the driveway for the reindeer.
